Utia Bamby is a Refugio that you should not miss for a lunch stop when visiting Alta Badia.
It is situated on the Bamby red run, 16A, from Piz la Ila or reached from blue run 15 starting at La Brancia.
The restaurant has been beautifully renovated with rustic style using vintage agricultural items and has a lovely cosy, warm and friendly atmosphere. Outside is a large sunny terrace with views for warmer days.
Their extensive menu caters for all appetites and tastes but their attitude to ingredients, especially the meat is what makes Utia Bamby unique. Meat served at Utia Bamby has been reared in their organic farm where calves enjoy their mother’s milk for up to a year. The benefits of this system are amazingly tender meat rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals but low in saturated fats and cholesterol. The aroma is mouthwatering!
Utia Bamby is taking part in the project “A Taste For Skiing”. 13 mountain huts in Alta Badia are serving dishes created by some of the world’s top chefs and this year the theme is recalling childhood favourites. The chef who has created Bamby’s dish is Nino Graziano from the restaurant Semifreddo in Moscow. The dish “artichoke, egg and potatoes” is a delicious combination of flavours and textures.
Utia Bamby has a great score of 4.5 out of 5 on TripAdvisor and has become one of our frequent haunts!
